WELCOME to my site. I'm a journalist and commentator who lives in London, England. My writing has appeared in the Economist, Foreign Affairs, London Review of Books, Adbusters, Al Jazeera, the Daily Beast, The National (Abu Dhabi), Maisonneuve, the Walrus, World Politics Review, and Vice.
I first cut my teeth in journalism in Beirut, Lebanon, where I lived between 2012 and 2015 covering Middle East politics and the Syrian refugee crisis. While there, I was also a staff editor at Carnegie Middle East, which is part of Carnegie's global network of think tanks headquartered in Washington, DC.
These days I write about a range of issues and topics related to Canada, the US, and the Middle East.
